Lanzarote has the good fortune to be far enough away from Africa to avoid the sand storms, but close enough to benefit from the warm water currents that flow by. It has only a few mountains and North-South tilt that means it is almost always 70 degrees and sunny. The island gets very little rainfall and the temperate breeze from Africa keeps the temperatures fairly consistent. It is, in other words, a golfer’s paradise.

There are two golf courses on the island. Costa Teguise and the Lanzarote Golf Resort. Costa Teguise is the older of the two, although it has been beautifully and lovingly maintained. Both courses are well designed, championship courses. Lanzarote Golf Resort benefits from the latest hydro-technology. With so little rainfall, the courses have to be very eco-conscious and the LGR employed the latest in sprinkler design and landscaping to ensure that what little water is needed is used to the utmost efficiency.

Planning Lanzarote holidays is not hard. There are cheap holiday packages to be had in Lanzarote. You just have to either plan far in advance or go at the very last moment. Either way and you can save a bundle on everything from airfare to accommodations. Most resorts on Lanzarote offer an all-inclusive package. For an older couple especially, this can be a great deal. All food, drinks and some entertainment covered in one bill! You can spend your days golfing and your nights relaxing at the resort, never wondering where to eat.

If you want to be able to break from daily golfing Lanzarote has great shopping and fun activities like kayaking and snorkling. There are museums that chronicle the island’s rich history and parks to showcase the flora and fauna of this beautiful place. Lanzarote is known for its eco-friendly stance on everything from real estate planing to conservation so a trip is an education, too. Whatever your reason for visiting the island, rest assured that your first trip won’t be your last!

Come winter and the way to go for vacations and enjoy the golf is there but you need to select a good number of Golf courses where you can enjoy the golf in winter.

Here are my recommendations

Arizona – especially Scottsdale and the Tucson are the best

Florida is another option though the grass may not be that green

Myrtle Beach as usual is the goof place all the year round winter as well as summer. You definitely can get good deals over there.

California comes in number four because in December and January as well as February it can get chilly and at times not that bearable.

Arizona is where most of the people flock to in winter to play golf so make sure that you check the prices as it can get expensive. Try something as an alternative which is good and easy on the pocket.

Las Vegas offers a lot of golf courses to enjoy the golf in winter. Do not expect the same level of courses as in Myrtle Beach but you know at the price it is the best.

Even in North and South Carolina there are places which can be cheap compared to summer times like Pinehurst and Hilton head.

Outside the country there is Costa Del Sol in Spain which can be a very good option.

As far as accessories go make sure that you get winter gloves and other things to wear as the weather sometimes can turn nasty and you will be caught unaware.

Note: A lot of tour packages will get you amazing prices for golf in Europe but you will have to bear the cost of travel.
