First and foremost, always make sure to find a reputable beachfront realty agency and book as early as you possibly can.  The best homes and condos for rentals always fill up quickly, especially during peak times like the Fourth of July.  If you don’t mind where you stay you don’t have to book as far in advance, but if you want the perfect rental for a family vacation or a romantic getaway, don’t wait too long before you book.

Another great tip is to make sure that you do your research ahead of time.  Look on the internet to see where the properties that you’re looking for are located.  Google maps can help quite a lot with this.  Are they as close to the water as you want?  Or, are they waterfront, but waterfront on a canal or inland waterway instead of the open ocean.  Make sure you know the property and area that it’s in before you finalize your booking.
